Gene HAAS Center for smart manufacturing
Purpose of the center: To stimulate and represent the manufacturing industry in various levels of education and the surrounding system.
The manufacturing industry in the southern Netherlands is flourishing. The Brainport region is home to five major machine builders (OEMs) that are world leaders in the semiconductor industry. These OEMs are surrounded by many manufacturing companies in the metal industry and engineering. Through the Gene HAAS center for smart manufacturing, CRAFT Education wants to make a positive contribution to stimulating this industry.
Activities Gene HAAS Center for Smart Manufacturing
- Promoting technology for the manufacturing industry Goal: Everyone in the Peel municipality (Brainport East) should at least have heard of the manufacturing industry in the Peel region
- 60% of primary schools in Deurne (and surrounding areas) should have participated in one or more workshops/events (co-)organized by the GHC
- Training MBO students for the manufacturing industrySet goal:By providing high-level training in the manufacturing industry, it becomes attractive to (young) people. We operate at the highest possible level with the latest technology with the aim of getting the best out of people. We desperately need these people within the area.
- Individual training programs, learning at your own pace, learning at your own level ensures that education meets the needs of the learner.
- Training CNC teachers (international) Set goal: Practice what you preach. We want to pass on everything we do at the Gene HAAS Center with the aim of enabling everyone to provide high-end education.
- Training teachers on 3-axis, 5-axis simultaneous, 5-plane, turning and turning with live tooling (Y-axis)
- Providing teachers with insights and tools to shape individual education (with or without learning materials from bspbookstore).
Educational possebilities for teachers
CRAFT Education offers a teacher development program for CNC milling or turning teachers. This program is designed to prepare teachers to teach their students a trade. We offer a variety of training courses for CNC teachers and instructors, from beginner CNC instructors to experienced instructors who want to work on up to 5-axis simultaneous machining.
CRAFT Method
The training courses offered by CRAFT Education combine theory and practice. You can learn the theory at your own pace through e-learning modules. In addition, several practical training days are scheduled at the practice center: the Gene HAAS Centre for Smart Manufacturing in Deurne, the Netherlands. These training days consist of two or three consecutive days with overnight stays, lunch, and dinner at a hotel near the training location. Naturally, a good lunch is provided during the daytime study hours.
The major advantage of training at CRAFT Education is that you work directly from course materials that you can also use with your students. These materials can also be made available to your students through booklists through the publisher BSPBookstore. Induvidual learning at their onw pace is a possibility for everyone.

In these programs are specialy developed for CNC teachers who want to excel in manufacturing. Every course consist off practice and theory trough e-learning. Every time you finnsih a part of the course succesfull you can urn a badge. A combination of badges can lead to a certificate on a certain level.
